A recent Gallup poll had this to say about alcohol-related family trouble:
More than one in three Americans (36%) say drinking alcohol has been a cause of problems in their family at some point, one of the highest figures Gallup has measured since the 1940s. (Source)
Before you pick up that bottle of beer or cocktail, remember that alcohol can have devastating consequences not only in your body, but in your family as well. Sure, you may feel more loose and at ease after throwing back a few, but prolonged alcohol abuse can lead to a host of problems that affect your body and cause stress on your family.
You may also be on the receiving end of alcohol-related family trouble. If you are the loved one of someone who abuses alcohol, tell someone immediately and get support for yourself! Talk to a trusted counselor, teacher, or law enforcement official about finding a support group or reporting abuse related to your loved one’s drinking.
