You Don’t Have to Drink to Fit In

July 24, 2015 Alcohol

Summertime for students is nearing its end and as you’re heading back to school for the 2015/2016 school year, you may be anxious about peer pressure to drink alcohol. Don’t be. Stand up for your convictions, beliefs, and morals. If you’re uncomfortable drinking as a minor, accept yourself and proudly share your conviction with others. You don’t have to drink alcohol to fit in with your friends. If you feel the need to drink to fit in with a certain group of people, really think about whether or not you want friends who’ll pressure you into doing something you’re uncomfortable with. Real friends don’t pressure you to do things. Real friends support you as you give yourself your best chance at life.

As you prepare for the new school year, we encourage you to rethink the drink and avoid alcohol use as a minor. Not only will you be putting your health at an advantage, but you’ll also have clearer mental reasoning and be better able to study for important tests. Your life can be just as fun–if not more fun–without the alcohol.

You can do it!
