National Transportation Safety Board Reccomends States Lower Legal BAC Limit for Drivers

August 5, 2013 Headlines

The National Transportation and Safety Board may not be able to directly change legislation regarding the legal blood alcohol content limit, but they are very influential in matters that concern public safety. Currently, drunk drivers account for roughly a third of all road deaths. The NTSB is endeavoring to end drunk driving once and for all and they feel if all 50 states were to lower their BAC limits from 0.08 to 0.05, it could save about 500 to 800 lives every year!

What are your thoughts? Do you think lowering the legal BAC for drivers would significantly reduce our road deaths that result from drunk driving?
