In recent years, it has become extremely apparent that teens who struggle with depression and anxiety are more likely to abuse alcohol and other drugs. Most know that such activity is a short-term non-solution to a persistent problem. However, many teens feel they cannot confide in their parents, teachers, or friends. If you are struggling with depression or anxiety, alcohol and other drugs are not going to help you feel better in the long run. The most important thing you can do is surround yourself with proper support. Find friends that you trust to confide in. Find adult role-models who inspire you and encourage you. If you need to, seek help from a mental health professional. Whatever you choose to do, do not isolate yourself. Support can make a huge difference in your health. Find your courage and fight for yourself!
